In conjunction with the striking Walmart workers on Black Friday UFCW Local 700 will be holding a rally in support of the workers Friday November 28th 2014 at 10:00am at the Wal-Mart on State Road 45.The purpose of the rally is to draw attention to the low wages that Wal-Mart pays and the lack of FT jobs created. I realize this is short notice but this decision to add this location is based on how wonderful the Bloomington Community has been in support of worker rights.

We will be having a additional rally this Thursday in conjunction with Bloomingfoods annual meeting. We would like to see the turnout as big as possible to support the workers right to organize and the member owners who are demanding change within Bloomingfoods. There's a rally to support public education this Saturday (October 11) in Indianapolis. It's on the south steps of Monument Circle from 11 a.m. to noon. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz is scheduled to speak. It's being organized by several legislative candidates.
In conjunction with the member/owners of Bloomingfoods “demand for change” action taking place at the board meeting on Tuesday October 7th of next week we will be having a peaceful rally/march to the administration office that evening. The workers would like to thank the member owners for their support and continue to build support in the community for their efforts to have their union.
