Saturday, January 24, 2015 - 9:30am

Trinity Episcopal Church in Bloomington will be the local site of a national conference Thursday through Jan. 24 to discuss economic inequality in the United States.

Titled “Creating Common Good,” the conference will originate at Trinity Church, Wall Street, New York, and feature prominent national speakers. Participants in Bloomington will be connected by two-way video.

The public is invited, attendance is free, but advance registration is required.

At 9:30 a.m. Jan. 24, economist Juliet Schor will address the question “What Can We Do About Economic Inequality?”

“Issues of economic justice and the common good are at the heart of our work as Christians,” said the Rev. Charles Dupree, rector of Trinity Episcopal, in a news release. “I hope every concerned citizen of Bloomington who is interested in economic justice feels welcome to attend this event.”

Attendees in Bloomington will be able to discuss the presentations in small-group sessions and provide feedback to the New York-based conference by video.

Anyone interested in attending should register by Monday by emailing rinitymartinie@gmail.com. All sessions will be in the Trinity Episcopal Church meeting hall, 111 S. Grant St., entrance on Kirkwood Avenue east of Grant Street.

Trinity Bloomington has participated for several years in this annual webcast from Trinity Wall Street.

This is the 44th National Theological Conference organized by the New York City church.
