Community Conversation: "Let's Hear Teachers' Voices"

Thursday, May 1, 2014 - 6:30pm

When: Thursday, May 1, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Where: Council Chambers, Bloomington City Hall

Non-educators continue to drive much of Indiana's education policy, and we rarely hear from the teachers whose classrooms feel the effect of policy changes. This event is meant to provide a forum for the voices of our educators themselves. Six local public school teachers will participate in a panel discussion of their professional lives. We'll hear what they love about their jobs, what kinds of support would help them achieve their goals, and their perspectives on how their profession has changed over the years. Audience members will be invited to ask questions after the panel presentation.

Featuring:

Erika Peek, 5th grade teacher at SummitBen Strawn who is a 3rd grade teacher also at SummitMegan Sommers Glenn, a Kindergarten teacher at Marlin,Kathleen Mills journalism at South,Greg Chaffin guidance counselor at North
