Washington, D.C. – Jobs with Justice and American Rights at Work issued the following statement following the U.S. House Democrats’ introduction of the “Border Security, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Act,” a comprehensive immigration reform bill:
Bloomington and Monroe County officials are following the progress of comprehensive immigration reform with interest and concern. On July 10, 2 p.m., at the Monroe County Courthouse, representatives from the mayor’s office, the county commissioners, city council, and county council will share their reasons for urging Congress to finalize an immigration bill this legislative session.
Join us and rally for immigration reform and the fight for citizenship for 11 million of our sisters and brothers as well as for family unity, fulfilled dreams, full and equal rights and fairness for all workers!
Come show your support and help us encourage Senator Joe Donnelly to publicly support immigration reform.
