A Statehouse Rally for Public Education Tuesday, March 19, 2:30 p.m. (EDT) organized by ICPE 

"Say Yes to Support for Public Education! Say No to Voucher Expansion!"

The House Budget and the voucher expansion bill now move to the Senate. It's time to come to the Statehouse to talk with Senators and Representatives about budget priorities and about the damage to public school students if vouchers are expanded by the passage of House Bill 1003.  For details, see Vic's Statehouse notes #123. 

ICPE invites all advocates for public education to the rally. It will begin at 2:30 p.m. and will be over by 3:30 p.m. Please join us and invite friends.  

Before and after, please make plans to visit with legislators to share your passion for restoring recession cuts to public education and your deep opposition to the unprecedented plan to expand vouchers by giving vouchers to thousands of students already in private schools. Vouchers would no longer save the state money, but would require new money from the tuition support budget, devoting at least one-sixth of the new money budgeted next year for all schools to private schools tuition.
