As many of you have probably seen, news outlets are reporting that Betsy DeVos will be in Indianapolis Monday night, unveiling a plan for vouchers at the federal level. She will be addressing the  American Federation for Children summit at the Westin. Here is the agenda (which doesn’t mention her):  https://www.federationforchildren.org/national-policy-summit/agenda/. Here is the program: https://www.federationforchildren.org/national-policy-summit/. It’s a great place to start if you are wondering whose interests are actually represented by the American Federation for Children.  There will be a rally to protect public schools at the Indiana Statehouse steps (south lawn) at 5:30 p.m., and ISTA is holding a press conference (same time, same place, I think) and requesting that supporters wear read for ed. It sounds like folks will move over to the Westin around 6 or 6:30. There is speculation that DeVos will start speaking around 8 p.m. The AFC will start live streaming the program on the main summit page of its website at 7 p.m. (second link above, I believe).  Here’s the ISTA release: https://www.ista-in.org/media-advisory?utm_content=buffer69754&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer Here’s the FB event made by Hendricks County Voices 4 Change, which calls for a protest at the Westin from 6 to 8 p.m.: https://www.facebook.com/events/1444580692276495/?acontext=%7B%22ref%22%3A%2223%22%2C%22action_history%22%3A%22null%22%7D
