February 10, 2015Dear friends of labor,  I invite you to join the IN State AFL-CIO, ISTA, AFT Indiana, and Indiana Coalition for Public Education at a Rally for Public Education on Monday, February 16th at 2 PM EST. Please review the details below from AFT Indiana Executive Director Sally Sloan: • The Legislature is in session on Feb. 16.• Everyone will need to go through security therefore be prepared.  It will take time, arrive early.  Rally to begin at 2 p.m. EST.  No weapons of any kind.• Rally will be inside.• Bring handmade signs; half sheet of poster board because it has to fit the scanner.  AFT on signs is a good thing.• We are working on parking for buses and possibly even cars - parking at Circle Center Mall is a good place to park cars -- it's only a couple of blocks from Statehouse.• This is a rally for public education -- voters and supporters of public education should try to come -- teachers, administrators, school board members, parents, friends, family members.• If you want to meet with your legislators, call ahead to make appointments.• If your local is participating in any way, you might want to tell your local media. Sincerely, Chris Brickey, President, Central Indiana Labor Council
