It is a fundamental right of all citizens for their vote to be counted fairly and in an nonpartisan way. Unfortunately, in Indiana we have maps drawn that do the opposite. This is detrimental to fair elections and Democracy. We are happy to announce that Julia Vaughn, the Policy Director for Common Cause Indiana, will be coming to Bloomington to help us understand what happened with HB1014 – the bill to establish an independent redistricting panel. We at Democracy for Monroe county invite you to join us in our discussion on how this effects our election process, and how to pressure House and Senate members to accept an independent redistricting panel that represents all voters. The meeting is open to the public and all media.
