Demonstration at Sen. Coats' office

Wednesday, May 28, 2014 - 12:00pm

Last month, Senator Coats voted against a raise for low wage workers and blocked discussion of the Fair Minimum Wage Act.

The Fair Minimum Wage Act will raise the minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 an hour. It will give a long needed raise for over 660,000 Hoosiers and inject over $1 billion into our state's economy.   In a state with declining incomes and a struggling economy, we need a higher minimum to put Indiana back on track.

That is why Senator Coats' decision to block a minimum wage increase is unnacceptable.

This important legislation will not be enacted without your support.  We need you, this Wednesday, to stand up for the thousands of low wage workers who would benefit from a raise to the minimum wage.
